Celtic forgotten man could be secret weapon in season-defining CL qualifiers
Amongst the celebrating players after Celtic clinched the treble, one player who has been unjustly forgotten about stood out – Jonny Hayes.
The summer signing from Aberdeen has been out since breaking his leg on Boxing Day against Aberdeen, but he showed that he is still part of the squad by taking part in the celebrations.
His injury came at a very bad time for the player, as he had just firmly established himself as a first-team starter and had got the fans on his side before the injury struck.
However, he is set to return in time for the Champions League qualifiers which begin in July, and he could prove to be a secret weapon for the Hoops in those games, which will define the season.
The qualifiers when involving the Hoops seem to be either goal fests, or incredibly tight games. and the latter in particular can suit Hayes.

He is a very tenacious player and had plenty of goals and assists in his time with the Dons, and seemed on the verge of going on a run with the Hoops until his injury.
For now though it is all about getting fit for the 30-year-old, who might yet recoup the £1million the Bhoys spent on him in an instant if he is integral to the Bhoys’ qualification for the money-spinning Champions League group stages.
