Celtic’s new January transfer plan revealed after Wilfried Nancy sack news and confirmed exit
Celtic may be reluctant to inject cash into the kitty to back Wilfried Nancy in January despite ongoing pressure and major changes behind the scenes.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the board have shown no signs of changing their ways.
Football Insider revealed in September that Celtic will not act rashly in January and have no plans to invest further despite ongoing frustrations from the fans.
Since then, Nancy has arrived as the new manager, and chairman Peter Lawwell has confirmed he will step down from his role following ongoing “abuse and threats”.
However, there are still no plans to deviate from their original strategy and they are determined not to be forced into rash decisions by caving in to pressure from outside.

Celtic make January transfer plans after major changes
Brown warned Football Insider that Celtic must back Nancy in January and avoid repeating the mistakes made which saw Brendan Rodgers walk away from Parkhead.
However, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that there are still concerns about how much they will be willing to spend.
“I still have question marks about Celtic,” he told Football Insider.
“The fans have been going on about it all year, they’re not happy with the way the club is being run, and Brendan Rodgers wasn’t happy with it either.
“If things were as they should have been, they should have been doing everything in their power to keep him and prove they could match his ambitions.
“Instead, they were content to sit still knowing they were probably the best team in Scotland and didn’t have to spend much on the team to prove that.
“I don’t think things have changed there, even after the season they’ve had with Hearts now leading the league, they’re still content with where they are.
“No matter what happens with the manager or anything else going on at the club, I don’t think things will change, and I don’t think they’re going to spend big.
“When the January window comes, of course there are positions they want to strengthen in, but I wouldn’t expect to see they go out and splash the cash around.”
Wilfried Nancy facing Celtic sack pressure
Football Insider revealed on 15 December that Celtic have no plans to sack Nancy despite what was a humiliating defeat at Hampden Park over the weekend.
However, Celtic fans’ calls for Nancy to be sacked have only grown louder despite his short time in the job, and the board are already coming under pressure.
Since then, Celtic lost 2-1 to Dundee United, and have now lost four games in a row in all competitions for the first time since 1978, a damning statistic for the new boss.

Brown told Football Insider on 16 December that Celtic are not considering sacking Nancy so soon after his appointment regardless of a poor start at Parkhead.
The boss arrived from Columbus Crew at the start of the month, and is already facing an uphill struggle to get the fans on side after a disastrous start.
