Championship sack race: Eric Ramsay odds slashed after West Brom twist, Chris Davies and Henrik Pedersen latest
Eric Ramsay has emerged as the clear favourite to be sacked next in the Championship after West Brom extended their winless run.
West Brom hired Ramsay in January, with the former Man United coach brought in to replace Ryan Mason.
The former Tottenham coach won just nine of his 27 games in charge, but his replacement has been unable to evoke any better form.
After just two games, Ramsay was already a contender for the sack at West Brom, with the second of those being a 5-0 loss at The Hawthorns to Norwich City.
And Ramsay has been under ever-mounting pressure since, with the Baggies still yet to win a game under his guidance.
New Championship casualties provide concern for sack favourites
So far this year, it has been difficult to be a manager in the Championship. Mason was the first to go in January, and he was joined when Leicester City sacked Marti Cifuentes.
The Foxes are still without a replacement for the Spaniard and find themselves in huge trouble alongside West Brom.
Both clubs, Premier League regulars in recent years, could well be relegated at the end of the season if not for a rapid change.
| Championship | Points | Goal difference |
| 20. West Brom | 33 | -15 |
| 21. Leicester City | 32 | -6 |
| 22. Blackburn Rovers | 32 | -13 |
| 23. Oxford United | 28 | -13 |
| 24. Sheffield Wednesday | -7 | -44 |
The Baggies currently hold a one-point gap to the drop zone, while Leicester hover above it on goal difference only.
The side currently 22nd, Blackburn Rovers, are looking for a new manager after sacking Valerien Ismael on transfer deadline day.
The Frenchman’s sacking came just one day after the unexpected departure of Javi Gracia at Watford, who have now appointed Edward Still to replace him.

One major bookmaker has named Ramsay the favourite at 7/4 to be sacked next in the Championship, while Henrik Pedersen (3/1) and Chris Davies (10/1) follow closely behind.
Eric Ramsay’s comments fueling fire beneath him
Before Saturday’s dismal draw with Stoke City, West Brom were in the Championship’s relegation zone.
However, speaking before the game, Ramsay told BBC Radio WM: “The state of the table is meaningless to me from the perspective of the messages I give to the players and the way in which we prepare for an individual game.”
On paper, the statement makes sense. The Baggies would be bogged down if they constantly surveyed the league table, instead of focusing on each game as it comes.
But for a manager of a huge club fighting to stay in the second tier, it is perhaps not what fans want to hear.
Ramsay will continue to fight for his job, but he appears to be struggling to put out the ever-expanding fires at The Hawthorns.
