Dundee United are interested in signing Celtic youngster Jack Aitchison, according to a report.
The Dundee Evening Telegraph claims that the Championship side want the 18-year-old hitman to help lead their promotion push to the Scottish Premiership.
The report goes on to claim that the deal is likely to be a loan one, as Aitchison still has a year to go on his Hoops contract.
United have had some success with Hoops loan players recently, as Anthony Ralston spent the second-half of last season on-loan at Tannadice.
Football Insider verdict
Jack Aitchison made a huge impact when he burst onto the Hoops first-team scene in May 2016, scoring on his first-team debut as a 16-year-old against Motherwell. Since then it has all gone quiet on the first-team front for the young striker. He made two appearances for the Hoops in 2016-17, but last season he didn’t feature at all. He did play regularly for the development side however. A move to a team like Dundee United could suit the player, as it would give him some regular game time next season. It would also be a test of his ability as a player, as he would be featuring in the very competitive Championship, which is one of the toughest leagues to play in, and Dundee United are expected to push heavily for promotion after missing out in the play-offs last season. Brendan Rodgers will no doubt be eager for the player to make the move, to see how he fares playing week to week.
