'Have to change' - Lasogga delivers bold verdict on returning stars after Bristol City draw

Leeds United striker Pierre Michel Lasogga has said that the return of a trio of first team stars will be a major boost to the squad after their draw against Bristol City on Sunday.
The Whites found themselves 2-0 down to the Robins at Elland Road in the opening 20 minutes, with Paul Heckingbottom’s first home game in charge not going to plan.
However the last 20 minutes saw the home side battle back to score two goals through Lasogga and attacking counterpart Kemar Roofe, and make it a defeat and a draw from the new manager’s first two games in charge.
Heckingbottom has been forced to contest with a number of absences from the first team as a result of injuries and suspensions picked up prior to his arrival, but he is set to welcome back three of the club’s star names ahead of the visit to Pride Park on Wednesday to take on Derby County.
Gaetano Berardi, Samu Saiz and Liam Cooper will all be eligible to make a return to action after their respective bans, and Lasogga says the trio will be a big help in trying to secure the club’s first victory since Boxing Day, boldly stating that the slow starts need to come to an end.
He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “We showed another face in the second half and I can’t explain why we played so much better than the first but we have to change it and play 90 minutes like this.
“It’s very important, not just Samu but also the other players coming back too because it makes our squad stronger.
“I’m happy that the guys are coming back because we’ve had enough red cards. When we are playing with 11 (at full strength) we can see how good we are.”
Leeds’ point against Bristol City means they sit 11th in the Championship table, eight points off the top six, with the Robins occupying the last of the play off spots.
