Sky Sports pundit and former Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas is “quite confident” that the Hoops will defeat Anderlecht in their final Champions League group stage match at Parkhead on Tuesday night.
The Celts only need to avoid defeat against the Belgian champions to clinch third place and a resulting spot in the Europa League last 32 after Christmas.
Nicholas has also highlighted Moussa Dembele as being the key man who can drive the Bhoys to victory, as he predicted a 2-0 win for the Scottish champions.
“I’m quite confident for this one…Celtic fans will understand they don’t need to force the game, the atmosphere will build and I think Celtic will pick them off,” he said on the Sky Sports website.
“We’re waiting to see if Moussa Dembele is fit and if he is then they can definitely do some damage on the break”
Nicholas went on to tip the Bhoys to win 2-0, with Dembele to open the scoring.
Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Monday that Dembele is fit for the game, and it seems likely that he will start the game against Anderlecht.
The Bhoys are big favourites for the game, following their comprehensive victory in Belgium in September, where goals from Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair secured a 3-0 victory, only the second ever group stage victory away from home for the Hoops.
The Hoops warmed up for the match with a 5-1 victory over Motherwell to move seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the star of the game was hat-trick hero Odsonne Edouard, who is set to be on the bench for the final Champions League game of the season.
