Charly Alcaraz sends three-word message after big Everton announcement

Everton have confirmed the signing of Charly Alcaraz on a permanent deal and the attacking midfielder responded to that announcement.

Following the takeover of the club by the Friedkin Group back in December, many connected with the Toffees were hoping for a busy January transfer window.

There were expectations that Everton would make numerous signings during that period, although things did not ultimately materialise in that way.

While David Moyes returned to replace Sean Dyche as manager in January, the club made just one senior signing, as Alcaraz arrived on loan from Brazilian side Flamengo.

Charly Alcaraz to stay on Merseyside

During his loan spell with the Toffees, the 22-year-old found himself in and out of the starting lineup at Goodison Park.

Even so, the Argentine still managed to score two goals and provide three assists in 15 Premier League appearances, helping the club to comfortably avoid relegation.

As a result, some Everton fans were left calling for the permanent signing of Alcaraz, and they have now got their wish.

On Saturday (31 May), the Merseyside outfit confirmed that they have now completed the permanent signing of the attacking midfielder from Flamengo, on a two-year deal until the summer of 2027.

With Everton announcing that transfer on their Instagram page, Alcaraz hinted at his delight over the deal by commenting on that post by writing: “Up the toffees”, accompanied by three blue loveheart emojis.

Everton make the right move with permanent deal

Football Insider Verdict

With a long list of players seeing their contracts or loans expiring, Everton are facing a significant exodus of players in the summer transfer window.

As a result, there is going to be plenty of pressure on the Toffees to bring in new recruits over the summer, to put together a squad that can push on from their promising end to the campaign.

With that in mind, it makes sense that they have taken advantage of the option to make Alcaraz‘s loan move permanent with this deal.

The attacking midfielder will help provide some depth for Everton amid those departures, and he has already shown he can make an impact for Moyes’ side.

This can therefore be seen as a reasonably promising start to the summer market for those connected with the blue half of Merseyside.
