Che Adams: Major Wolves update after offer submitted – sources

Wolves are waiting to hear whether Che Adams will accept their contract offer amid interest from Torino, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands club are long-term admirers of the 28-year-old, and offered him a deal for him to join following the expiry of his Southampton contract on 30th June.

Adams has yet to make a decision on his future and is weighing up his options, with Torino emerging as a strong contender as they push to reach an agreement.

Sources are Wolves are hopeful they can agree a deal with Adams as they wait for a final answer from the player.

A move to Wolves would see Adams return to the Premier League for the first time since he suffered relegation with Southampton in 2023.

Adams has been at Southampton since making the £15million move from Birmingham City in 2019, and has made 191 appearances for the club.

He played a lesser role in the Championship last season, starting 28 games as Adam Armstrong established himself as the first-choice striker, but scored 17 goals in 46 appearances.

His availability on a free has alerted Wolves, who have a long-held interest in the Scotland forward after they attempted to sign him last summer before missing out.

Interest from Torino has emerged late in the day, but they are strong suitors for his signature.

Scottish players making the move to Italy has been a trend in recent years, and Adams could follow the likes of Aaron Hickey and Lewis Ferguson to Serie A.

Ferguson picked up the league’s Midfielder of the Year award last season after helping Bologna finish fifth, and Adams will be keen to replicate his success should he make the move.

Wolves, meanwhile, are looking to bolster their attacking options after a strong start saw their form under Gary O’Neil slow down.

They ultimately finished in 14th place, and will be looking to move further up the table next season with the striker playing a key role.
