Chelsea bag surprise £10m profit on flop who’s never played for the club
Chelsea have sold Brazilian winger Angelo to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr for £23 million just one year after he joined the Premier League club.
The Brazilian winger, 19, joined the west Londoners from Santos back in 2023 for £13 million and has now left the club after failing to make a single competitive appearance.
Angelo was loaned to BlueCo sister club Strasbourg last season where he made 25 appearances, scored zero goals, and provided four assists.
He had previously notched five times in 129 appearances for Sao Paulo club Santos having made his professional debut aged just 15.
The youngster is now set to join up with ex-Premier League stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Aymeric Laporte as he seeks to revive his young career.
Chelsea make profit on Angelo sale
It was another busy transfer window for Todd Boehly and Chelsea with eleven new signings for Enzo Maresca’s already stacked squad.
Notably, however, 24 first-team players were shown the door at Cobham either temporarily or permanently as the club raked in an impressive £167 million in player sales.

Most of that money came from academy products as the club struggled to overcome the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.
Ian Maatsen, Conor Gallagher, Lewis Hall, and Omari Hutchinson all left their boyhood club for a combined £120.4 million.
Chelsea will face Bournemouth on August 14th in their first Premier League game after the international break as Maresca’s side look to forget their frustrating 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
