Chelsea bombshell: Fans say they will be expelled from the Premier League – ‘As red-handed as you can get’
Fans want Chelsea to be expelled from the Premier League after a “huge” new financial revelation emerged.
Reportedly, the Blues’ former chief executive Marina Granovskaia, who worked under former owner Roman Abramovich, could be questioned by an independent commission if Chelsea are charged with profit and sustainability breaches.
Her name appeared in documents detailing millions of pounds of secret payments made during Abramovich’s reign and her testimony could prove vital in finding the club guilty.
The Premier League are currently investigating whether the controversial ex-owner illegally subsidised Chelsea through off-shore accounts to make payments rather than use money the club generated themselves.
Fans want Chelsea Premier League expulsion after “huge” news
Amid the continued investigation into Chelsea’s alleged breaches of profit and sustainability laws, they could face a points deduction or even expulsion from the league.
Former Everton chief Keith Wyness revealed to Football Insider (22 March) that Chelsea have been “spooked” by recent PSR sanctions handed to Everton and Nottingham Forest, who were hit with a six-point and four-point deduction respectively this season.
He also revealed to Football Insider (24 March) that they could learn their potential points deduction fate by Christmas this year if they don’t get their finances in order after recording combined losses of £211.5million in the last two seasons, with PSR rules only allowing a £105million loss over three years.
Fans have taken to social media to react to the potentially devastating news for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and many are very keen to see them stripped of their top-flight status.
