Chelsea coaches privately destroy Mykhaylo Mudryk in five words – sources
Mykhaylo Mudryk’s Chelsea future is up in the air heading into the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the 23-year-old winger is yet to convince Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino,
Sources say Pochettino and his backroom staff at Chelsea believe Mudryk “doesn’t have the football brain” needed to thrive in his system, while there are also question marks over his end product and ability to combine the play.
The Ukraine international has started just nine games from a possible 25 that the club have played in the Premier League this season under the Argentine.
Additionally, he has completed 90 minutes in just one of his 25 appearances in all competitions under Pochettino so far.
Chelsea to bin Mudryk this summer after Bayern Munich interest in January?
Mudryk was the subject of loan interest from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window, but Chelsea were reluctant to let him go due to their inability to replace him.
But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that a summer move is now seen as possible by club chiefs at Stamford Bridge.
The winger has notched four goals and five assists in 42 total appearances since joining Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023.
Chelsea paid a reported £62million up front to the Ukrainian side – with a further £26.5million due in add-ons if certain conditions are met.
In addition to the transfer package worth £88m, Mudryk signed an eight-and-a-half-year deal running until June 2031 at Stamford Bridge.
He has not started in each of the last six Premier League games.

Chelsea sit 10th in the top-flight and face a League Cup final against Liverpool this Sunday (25 February).
Mudryk has been displaced by the likes of Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke in the Blues’ pecking order.
