Chelsea could agree deals with Jorge Mendes

Maresca joined Chelsea from Leicester City in June 2024 after leading the Foxes back to the Premier League.

The Italian boss then secured the Blues a fourth-place finish and a return to the Champions League in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea also lifted the Conference League and the Club World Cup after enjoying an upturn in fortunes under Maresca.

In a new development, The Telegraph reported on Monday (22 October) Maresca has now joined Jorge Mendes’s Gestifute agency, which represents multiple coaches across the Premier League.

Mendes’s stable of footballers includes several top players from around the globe, with the Blues boss now having a direct line to their agent.

Chelsea have ‘profitable relationship’ with Mendes

The likes of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and PSG winger Bradley Barcola are among Mendes’s extensive list of clients.

The 59-year-old also represents a catalogue of Portuguese players, including Chelsea winger Pedro Neto

The Telegraph revealed Mendes already enjoys a “profitable relationship” with the Blues, having twice negotiated deals for Joao Felix to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

Felix left Chelsea to join Al-Nassr in the latest summer transfer window, with the Saudi side agreeing to pay an initial £26.2m and up to £17.5m in potential add-ons.

It isn’t out of the question more stars associated with Mendes could soon make their way to west London after Maresca has joined his agency.
