Chelsea fans all say the same thing about Cole Palmer’s Ballon d’Or ranking

Chelsea supporters have labelled the Ballon d’Or award a “joke” after Cole Palmer was ranked 25th in this year’s ceremony.

The coveted award sees 100 journalists from the top-ranked FIFA nations vote for their player of the year, and the 2024 award was won by Man City’s Rodri.

The ceremony was met with controversy this year after Real Madrid decided to boycott the event completely after hearing rumours that Vinicius Jr. wasn’t going to win.

While there have been arguments over who should have won the prestigious individual award, fans have been surprised to see Palmer ranked at 25.

Many people expected to see the England international higher up the list following his breakout season for both club and country.

The attacking midfielder scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in the Premier League last season, while he also scored in the Euro 2024 finals.

Chelsea fans believe Cole Palmer’s Ballon d’Or ranking was ‘unacceptable’

Chelsea fans were quick to defend their star player, who has started the 2024-25 campaign similarly by scoring seven goals in the Premier League.

Supporters claimed that the award will never “yield value again,” while others stated he was “robbed” and that it was a “disgusting ranking.”
