Chelsea fans all say the same thing about Wesley Fofana after ‘shocking’ update

Chelsea fans are ecstatic about Wesley Fofana’s injury progress after an unexpected update has been reported.

According to the Daily Mail the centre-back has already returned to training on the grass, despite Enzo Maresca claiming he was going to be out for the entire season.

The 24-year-old picked up a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Aston Villa on 1 December and has been rehabilitating ever since.

Maresca has recently recalled Trevoh Chalobah from his season-long loan at Crystal Palace to provide more reinforcements after Benoit Badiashile also suffered an injury.

The Chelsea academy graduate made his return during Monday’s (20 January) victory against Wolves and earned the Player of the Match award for his performance.

However, Fofana’s speedy return to individual training is a positive sign that the £75million defender could be available earlier than expected for the Blues.

Chelsea fans are pleased with Wesley Fofana’s progress

The France international had been a mainstay in the Chelsea team this season after what has been a torrid time due to various injuries.

Fofana only featured 15 times in the Premier League during the 2022-23 campaign and missed all of last season due to injury, placing pressure on the Blues not to rush him back this time around.

However, fans have claimed they “desperately” need him back in the team with others believing he’s “sacrificing his footballing career” for a late charge at the Premier League title.
