Chelsea fans all say the same thing about who their next manager will be after Liam Rosenior
Chelsea fans are all convinced that Gary O’Neil will become their manager in the near future as he prepares to take charge of sister club Strasbourg.
It has been all change at Stamford Bridge in the last week, after Enzo Maresca left his position as Chelsea boss on New Year’s Day due to ongoing discontent behind the scenes.
Strasbourg boss Rosenior instantly emerged as the frontrunner for the vacant role, with links arising because the two clubs are both currently owned by BlueCo.
Rosenior was announced as Chelsea’s new manager on Tuesday, signing a six-year deal, with his first match in charge set to come against Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup on Saturday.
BlueCo have also been searching to find Strasbourg’s next boss in the wake of his Stamford Bridge switch, with O’Neil now emerging as their preferred candidate.

O’Neil is set to take over as Strasbourg’s new boss after Rosenior
Former West Ham midfielder O’Neil has been out of work since he lost his job as Wolves boss in December 2024, with the club 19th in the Premier League.
O’Neil snubbed the chance to return to Wolves after his replacement, Vitor Pereira, was sacked in November, and he has been linked to several jobs in the meantime.
Football Insider have now revealed that O’Neil has been offered the Strasbourg job following Rosenior’s departure, with reports stating that terms are in place and a deal has been agreed between the two parties.

Rosenior leaves Strasbourg seventh in Ligue 1 after a run of three wins in their last five games, while they have qualified for the Conference League round of 16 after finishing top of the league phase table.
Chelsea fans all predict O’Neil to be their manager after Rosenior
O’Neil has emerged as a surprise contender to take over at Strasbourg, considering how long he has been out of the game and the fact that he has mainly been linked to vacant Championship jobs so far this season.
There is a clear pathway for those who do well in France to join Chelsea, as shown by Rosenior’s own shock move, and many Blues fans believe that O’Neil could well end up as their manager soon if their new boss struggles to succeed.
Taking to X to react to his move to Strasbourg, one Chelsea fan said: “Haha…man is in line for the Chelsea job sooner or later, that will be the end of Chelsea.”
While another said: “Not sure how I feel about Gary O’Neil being our manager in 18 months.”
And one Blues fan wrote: “Gary O’Neil (is) getting ready to be Chelsea’s next manager in two years,” with crying and laughing emojis.
