'It's wrong', 'Free Cesc' - Chelsea fans fume as Fabregas is axed from line-up v Everton

By Matt Bullin

Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to display their anger after Cecs Fabregas was axed from Antonio Conte’s starting line-up to face Everton.

Pedro comes into Conte’s side in place of Fabregas, and is the only change to the team who beat Southampton 4-2 last time out.

Pedro has been Conte’s preferred option to line up alongside Eden Hazard in the attacking midfield this season, and the former Barcelona man has responded with 11 goals and 11 assists in his 37 league and cup appearances.

Meanwhile N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic have been Conte’s preferred options in holding midfield, meaning Fabregas has been restricted to limited game time this term.

Fabregas was substituted after 77 minutes against the Saints, despite having earlier provided an assist.

The 29-year-old has featured 31 times in all competitions for the Blues this term and has scored six goals and provided nine assists.

If Chelsea can beat Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon they can stretch their lead at the top of the league to seven points.

However Spurs will have the opportunity to cut it back down to four points as they face Arsenal at White Hart Lane in the North London derby later in the day.

Chelsea fans were furious with Fabregas’ omission from the starting XI and they took to Twitter to show their anger.
