Chelsea fans love what Levi Colwill did v Wrexham as new footage emerges

Chelsea fans have been full of praise for Levi Colwill after an on-pitch brawl with Wrexham forward James McClean in their pre-season friendly.

Enzo Maresca’s side kicked off their pre-season tour of the USA with a 2-2 draw against the Welsh outfit, although all eyes remained on the incident.

Colwill took exception to a late challenge just two minutes into the game, shoving the winger and kicking off a mass brawl with both players held by their collars.

This came after the defender suffered a foot injury which kept him out for 11 games last season, with that blow clearly in mind when McClean left a foot in with a heavy challenge early on.

McClean is a controversial figure in English football following previous comments and interviews, and Chelsea fans were buzzing he was on the end of the anger.

Both players got off with a warning rather than any serious consequences given the nature of the friendly clash, with Colwill considered lucky.

Fans, however, heaped praise on the 21-year-old, with one going as far as to proclaim him a “legend”, while others insisted they “love” what he did.

In other news, Trevoh Chalobah is now poised to quit Chelsea after the latest development.
