Ake is a versatile player that can operate at either centre-back or left-back, while also playing as a defensive midfielder on occasions.
The Dutchman is likely to compete with Marcos Alonso for Chelsea’s left wing-back position and will be a useful player to the squad.
He has scored three goals in his 12 appearances at Bournemouth, including winners against Liverpool and Stoke respectively.
Ake has managed to force his way back into the club’s first-team picture earlier than expected and his loss will be a huge blow to Bournemouth.
In other Chelsea transfer news, the club are on the verge of agreeing a sensational striker swap deal.
