Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been dropped from the starting XI against Crystal Palace – and the club’s supporters expressed their anger on Twitter with the decision.

The 29-year-old scored the decisive goal on Wednesday as the Blues recorded a 1-0 away victory against Sunderland and extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points.

Antonio Conte has made two changes to the starting line up with Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic replacing Pedro and Fabregas from the win against Sunderland.

Chelsea announced their starting line up on their official Twitter account.

Chelsea fans are shocked by Fabregas’ omissionĀ and feel that he deserved to keep his place in the starting XI.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Fabregas has found it difficult to cement his place in the team this season and is still trying to fit into the newly-found 3-4-3 formation.

The Spanish international is currently third in the pecking order behind the impressive N’Golo Kante and Matic.

HeĀ has started two of the club’s last three games and played a starring role in both games, with an assist in the 3-1 victory against Manchester City.

Fabregas has been named on the bench for the Crystal Palace clash and will hope to make a positive impact if called upon.

The central midfielder offers a more creative outlet to the Chelsea team and Conte has gone for a more solid approach on Saturday.

In other Chelsea team news, Jamie Carragher has criticised the club’s midfielder amid transfer speculation.
