Fabregas has been restricted to a bit-part role for the majority of the season, with N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic the preferred combination as the central midfielder.
He has still managed to contribute well to the Blues and they are now eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Fabregas has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring three goals and supplying seven assists.
The central midfielder is likely to get the opportunity in the club’s next game in the FA Cup fourth-round against Brentford.
In other Chelsea news, the club have lined up a big-money move for a Premier League star.
