Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was used as a second-half substitute against Hull – and the club’s supporters were delighted with his performance on Twitter.

The 29-year-old was introduced to the game in the 71st minute and made a positive impact in the Premier League game.

Relegation-threatend Hull fought back into the game after the break and were pushing for an equaliser, but the introduction of Fabregas helped clinch the game.

The Spaniard showcased his composure in possession and assisted Gary Cahill for the second goal with a precise free-kick.

Chelsea fans were extremely plead with Fabregas’ display on Sunday and some of them suggested he should come into the starting line-up in the future.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Fabregas has been restricted to a bit-part role for the majority of the season, with N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic the preferred combination as the central midfielder.
