Chelsea fans say the same thing about Jadon Sancho after Sky journalist’s update

Jadon Sancho’s future at Chelsea has become uncertain in recent months, but fans were united in their reaction after a fresh update emerged.

Chelsea have only just wrapped up their season, securing a return to the Champions League and lifting the Conference League, yet attention has already shifted to their summer business.

Sancho had a brilliant performance for Chelsea against Real Betis, where he netted the third in a dominant 4-1 victory over the Spanish side.

An obligation is in place for teh club to make his loan move permanent, but Chelsea can pay a £5million fee to cancel Sancho’s loan arrangement. Alternatively, they can complete the permanent transfer for £25 million.

The England international has endured a difficult calendar year overall, but his flashes of brilliance — particularly his composed finish in the final — have sparked debate over whether Chelsea should commit to the deal.

Now, following a new update, it appears the club may have finally reached a decision regarding his long-term future.

Chelsea open talks to make Jadon Sancho move permanent

Kaveh Solhekol, chief reporter for Sky Sports News, revealed that Chelsea “would like Sancho to stay” as the winger’s loan spell nears its end.

He added that if both parties can agree on contract terms that align with the club’s wage structure, the Blues are prepared to trigger the £25 million clause to make the move permanent.

Meanwhile, former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Sancho is among five players Man United are actively looking to sell this summer. Now that Chelsea’s stance is clear, a deal could be pivotal for United’s financial position heading into the window.

Sancho has made 42 appearances for the club this season, and while he’s only scored five goals, he’s registered an impressive 10 assists in just over 2,400 minutes of action.

Sancho won over Chelsea supporters early on after arriving last summer on deadline day, offering a fresh threat on the left flank.

While his form hasn’t always been consistent, it’s clear Enzo Maresca sees the England international as part of his long-term plans.

His standout display in the Conference League final, capped with a composed finish, seems to have convinced fans too. Supporters took to social platforms to express their excitement of the update, with one commenting: “Let’s get this deal done” and another writing, “This is the best news coming through from Chelsea today.”
