Eden Hazard could face two weeks on the sidelines with the hip injury he sustained in Chelsea’s weekend win at Crystal Palace, Football Insider sources understand.

The Belgium international lasted just 16 minutes of the Premier League champions’ 3-0 triumph at Selhurst Park on Sunday before limping off.

Hazard was also recently injured when he fell on his hip and bruised it during the defeat at Leicester last month, missing Chelsea’s subsequent match against Sunderland.

A Chelsea source told Football Insider that medics fear the reigning Footballer of the Year could be absent for a fortnight with his latest injury.

Hazard will undergo intensive treatment in the next few days but is out of Sunday’s FA Cup third round clash at home to Scunthorpe.

The Belgian is facing a race against time to play in Chelsea’s next Premier League clash, against West Brom at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday of next week.

Chelsea will leapfrog the Baggies if they claim a second successive league win as interim manager Guus Hiddink attempts to revitalise the team’s season.
