John Terry is set to be ruled out of Chelsea’s Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain after missing squad training on Tuesday morning.
The Chelsea skipper failed to appear with the rest of the team as they trotted out to perform some routines in front of the cameras in the final group session before Wednesday’s second-leg tie.
He now is almost certain to miss the last-16 match at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea aim to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg in Paris three weeks ago.
Manager Guus Hiddink is set to stick with Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic as his centre-back pairing for the sixth consecutive match.
Terry has not played since the 13 February win over Newcastle, which he did not finish after suffering a first-half hamstring injury.
In other Chelsea injury news, Pedro managed a run out at Cobham on Tuesday morning after overcoming a hamstring complaint while Kenedy also took part despite injury concerns.
Diego Costa, who was rested as a precaution on Saturday for the 1-1 draw with Stoke, also trained in Surrey and is in line to spearhead the attack on Wednesday night.
Alexandre Pato, who is yet to make his debut since arriving on loan from Corinthians in January, was also present, as was Radamel Falcao even though he is not in the club’s Champions League squad.
