‘Chelsea make Dewsbury-Hall transfer decision’ amid new West Ham reveal
Chelsea are expected to lower their asking price for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall come the end of the season after failing to move him on in January.
This is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that clubs were put off making a move by his lofty price tag.
Football Insider revealed that West Ham had looked into a loan move with an option to buy, while Everton were also keen on a short-term deal, but nothing materialised.
Dewsbury-Hall is highly regarded by a number of Premier League clubs, and his availability had put transfer teams on red alert during the winter window.
The 26-year-old has played just 132 minutes of league football this term and has started ten games across all competitions, pushing him towards a move in search of increased playing time.
However, with the midfielder having joined Chelsea just six months ago and his contract set to run until , the Blues are looking to make a significant profit from his sale.
Brown has insisted that his price tag will have to drop if they want to sell him permanently, while clubs will be more willing to spend in the summer window than in January.
Chelsea’s January price for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall put off Aston Villa
Brown told Football Insider in November that Dewsbury-Hall had attracted interest from multiple top clubs as he wants to play first-team football.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that the midfielder is likely to move on in the summer if Chelsea lower their asking price.
“I expect Chelsea to lower their asking price a bit,” he told Football Insider.
“There isn’t a shortage of interest in him, but the money they’re asking for, clubs aren’t going to be willing to meet that price.
“That’s why the suggestions in January were all about loans, because they can’t afford to spend the sort of money Chelsea want for him.
“In the summer, clubs are always more willing to spend big money, but I think they’re going to have to lower their demands a bit if they want to sell him.
West Ham plot new move for Chelsea star
“He’s still going to be keen on a move away, because he’s not playing for Chelsea and he needs to be playing regular football.

“He’s impressed me every time I’ve seen him play, and he could really add something to a team like West Ham for example, who have been looking at him.
“So I think he’s likely to leave Chelsea in the summer, but only if they’re more reasonable with the money they’re going to ask for.”
