Expert: Jules Kounde ready for Chelsea 'medical' after journalist's update
Jules Kounde is ready for a medical at Chelsea now that he has successfully undergone surgery on a pelvic injury.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
The Sun reported on Wednesday that Chelsea are back in for Sevilla centre-back Kounde, 23, after the departure of director Marina Granovskia disrupted initial talks.
The Frenchman, who is under contract in Seville until 2024, was earmarked for surgery after he suffered a pelvic injury while away on international duty.
Speaking to the London Is Blue Podcast last Wednesday (22 June), journalist Matt Law claimed that Chelsea are aware that the surgery has been a success.
Dinnery assessed the risks involved in an exit-bound player going under the knife.

“With any procedure, there are no guarantees whatsoever,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“We often hear it referenced as a small procedure or a minor procedure. But ultimately, there are still potential complications.
“For all the best will in the world, you have to remain hopeful that things will go smoothly. But there are no guarantees.
“With this procedure, the success rates are really good. You are fairly confident that the player will come through without any major issues or long-term ramifications.
“You can be fairly confident that this was a small procedure, more of a tidying up. There will be no stone left unturned during the medical and I’m sure he will be absolutely fine.”
Kounde scored three times in 44 appearances in 2021-22.
Barcelona are also reportedly keen to seal his signature this summer.
