Chelsea fans have urged the club to sell Wesley Fofana after Enzo Maresca’s latest update on the defender’s ongoing injury woes.

The Blues edged past Tottenham in a tight 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge, but Fofana was once again absent from the squad.

The French centre-back has endured a frustrating spell at Chelsea, with injuries severely limiting his involvement since arriving from Leicester in a deal worth up to £75 million.

He has missed 18 games this season alone, continuing a pattern of fitness issues that have plagued his time in West London.

While he arrived with high expectations, Chelsea fans have grown increasingly frustrated with Fofana and his the lack of impact on such a significant investment.

Despite returning in March after a hamstring injury, Maresca’s recent comments on the defender’s recovery didn’t offer much optimism, prompting a fresh wave of frustration among supporters.

Fofana has featured just 14 times this season, having already struggled with a hamstring injury earlier in the campaign. Combined with injuries to Benoit Badiashile, Chelsea were forced to recall Trevoh Chalobah in the January window to bolster their defensive options.

The backline remains a major concern for Maresca, especially with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez facing criticism from Chelsea fans for repeated errors. The ongoing instability at the back has only added to’ frustrations.

There was optimism earlier this year that Fofana could return to lead the defence following his comeback last month. But yet another setback has left supporters losing patience, with many now calling for the club to sell the 24-year-old.

Fofana has made just 34 appearances for the club since arriving in 2022 and supporters are now demanding that Chelsea cut their losses and move on.
