Chelsea news: Hudson-Odoi deserves everyone’s sympathy after new development – pundit

Callum Hudson-Odoi has found himself very unlucky at Chelsea amid his potential move away from the club.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie has claimed Chelsea’s bloated squad has prevented youngsters from proving themselves at the club.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (28 July) that the Cottagers are in the box seat to land the 22-year-old.

And it is believed Fulham are ready to swoop and confident about wrapping up a deal – despite a difference in valuations preventing a full agreement with Chelsea at present.

With a potential transfer on the cards, McAvennie believes that It is a necessary move for Hudson-Odoi to futher progress his career.

“Chelsea have enough players for two dressing rooms at the moment,” he told Football insider.

“I feel for Callum Hudson-Odoi, I think he’s a good player but there is an awful lot of good players at Chelsea who are not going to make the first team.

“And it’s a crying shame because there’s some decent players in there.

“Everyone player at the club has got about four or five places they have to fight for, and it’s ridiculous.

Fulham

“I think Mauricio Pochettino will cut back heavily before the end of the transfer window.

“So I feel for the boys at Chelsea especially Hudson-Odoi I think he’s a good player, but I think you’ve got to go in and kick start your career again because it was going so well and then all of a sudden just when you think you’re going to make it, it’s not happened.
