Chelsea prepare Alejandro Garnacho exit contingency if Man United exile fails at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea have planned for the eventuality of Alejandro Garnacho failing at Stamford Bridge as a deal nears to being agreed.
Following a long-winded pursuit of the Argentinian, it appears Chelsea are closing in on landing the signature of the Man United winger Garnacho.
The main issue had been over the price tag with United previously staying firm on their £50million valuation of their forward (The Telegraph).
Football Insider revealed on 12 August that Chelsea valued Garnacho at £40m and would hold off any further bids until the Red Devils lowered the amount demanded.
With only a matter of days until the end of the transfer window, it appears the red half of Manchester have loosened their grip on the South American as the Blues prepare for his possible arrival.

Man United and Chelsea close to agreeing Alejandro Garnacho deal as Enzo Maresca carefully lays out back-up plans
According to a report by The Telegraph (27 August), the two Premier League sides are nearing an agreement for a deal worth up to £40m, just as the west London outfit were holding out for.
However, given the Argentine’s history of poor discipline, Chelsea have “made a number of checks on his character”.
On top of this, Todd Boehly and co. are clearly taking careful measures to ensure that if Garnacho fails to impress at Stamford Bridge, there is “potential trading of the player further down the line”.
The Blues are certainly preparing contingency plans in the event the United academy graduate throws his toys out the pram or doesn’t live up to the high expectations, with the price tag seen as allowing for a future market to exist for him.
Alejandro Garnacho with much to prove at Chelsea to turn his reputation and career around
Football Insider verdict
After breaking onto the scene in lightning quick fashion, the 21-year-old has gone completely off the boil the last few months.
Ruben Amorim has been stern about how he wants his cohort to be and the South American has failed to match what is to be expected of the squad, throwing him into exile.
Yet, his perception across the football world is that of a winger who is distracted and easily annoyed if things do not go his way, seemingly going on strike – the trend of this summer.

He is now at a significant crossroads in his career and must prove to Maresca and the Chelsea board why they are right to take a chance on him.
Moreover, with the World Cup fast approaching, Lionel Scaloni will be keeping an eye out for the Stamford Bridge bound wide man to see if he is deserving of a place in the squad.
Considering the Argentina national team are going to North America to defend their world title, there will be no room for a complaining and underperforming Garnacho.
