Chelsea ready to sell all-but two ‘untouchable’ stars
Chelsea have identified just two players who they will not be selling in the summer transfer window under any circumstances.
Enzo Maresca‘s side are fighting for a place in the Champions League in the final games of this season, and will miss out on a major financial windfall if they fail to claim a top five spot needed to qualify.
It has been reported that the agents of Chelsea players are concerned about sales if the club fail to secure a place in the competition, and are forced to raise funds through other means.
Now it seems that for many members of the Blues’ first-team squad, those concerns may yet be realised once the market opens.

Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer ‘untouchable’ at Stamford Bridge
One player who has impressed for the club this season is Mosies Caicedo after he recently won big as Chelsea handed out their annual awards.
By contrast, Cole Palmer has largely struggled to hit the heights of his stunning debut campaign at Stamford Bridge during the 2023/24 season.
Position | Played | GD | Points |
2. Arsenal | 36 | +33 | 68 |
3. Newcastle United | 36 | +23 | 66 |
4. Manchester City | 36 | +24 | 65 |
5. Chelsea | 36 | +19 | 63 |
6. Aston Villa | 36 | +7 | 63 |
7. Nottingham Forest | 36 | +12 | 62 |
Indeed, some Chelsea fans have even called for Maresca to be sacked over his handling of Palmer since the former Leicester boss arrived in the summer.
Despite that, an update from BBC Sport has stated that Caicedo is considered “untouchable” by the club, and that Palmer also falls into that category.
Other than the pair, the Blues are said to be willing to sell any player in their squad for the right price, although it is noted that the club always demand high prices when it comes to any sales.

Chelsea stance over key duo makes sense
Football Insider Verdict
Palmer only extended his contract at Stamford Bridge last summer, meaning his future at the club is secure until the end of the 2032/33 season.
There are suggestions that Chelsea are also keen to extend the contract of Caicedo until a similar point, and so with such long deals, it would make little sense for them to be sold.
It is not a secret to anybody who follows football that those in charge at Stamford Bridge are hugely ambitious with what they want to achieve.
When they are playing to their very highest level, Caicedo and Palmer are probably the two best players currently on the club’s books.
With that in mind, the fact they are the two who simply will not be sold feels like the right move from Chelsea, particularly considering there are others who can still generate a big price.
All of that means this looks like it will be a busy summer for Maresca’s team in terms of both incomings and outgoings as they aim to improve in the 2025/26 campaign.
