‘Chelsea sack updates on Winstanley and Stewart plus Enzo Maresca emerge’
Enzo Maresca, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart’s respective job security at Chelsea has become clearer after a report from The Athletic.
Supporters at Stamford Bridge have only become more and more frustrated as Maresca’s side fall further down the Premier League table, especially after such a bright start to the campaign.
The Blues are now without an away victory since December, seeing them fall to seventh in the league standings and prompting questions over Cole Palmer’s future at Chelsea.
Many have already started calling for the manager to be sacked despite only joining from Leicester City in the summer, with the general feeling that Mauricio Pochettino was let go far too soon.
Now, an update has emerged on those responsible at Stamford Bridge for the sudden drop in form and what their futures could hold under Todd Boehly.
Enzo Maresca could already be set for Chelsea sack
According to The Athletic [25 February], a continuation of Chelsea’s bad form between now and the end of the season could affect Maresca’s future at Stamford Bridge, should the Blues miss out on Champions League qualification.
It is understood, however, that co-sporting directors Winstanley and Stewart will be judged over a much longer period of time, having been hired to have an overall impact at the club, more than just transfers, and as such are not at risk.
The duo have already made several key changes, having selected the successor of Emma Hayes to lead Chelsea Women and the recruitments of Keira Walsh and Naomi Girma.

Todd Boehley cannot act too hastily with yet another Chelsea manager
Football Insider verdict
Chelsea have already parted ways with Graham Potter, Frank Lampard and Pochettino since Boehly bought a controlling stake at Stamford Bridge, and it has been a rollercoaster of a period.
The team has finished no higher than sixth in the last three seasons, which is far below what is expected from a club like the Blues, but each manager has been given limited time to settle in.

All managers brought in so far have been ones who tend to build a project, much like what Potter is attempting with West Ham now, but the hammer has come down far too soon.
There have been some very bright signs since Maresca took charge, especially in the beginning, and firing him at the end of the season would just hit the restart button all over again.
Winstanley and Stewart can certainly help guide the team forward with the right transfers, and with just a few weeks remaining until the end of the season, Boehly and the hierarchy just need to stay patient.
