‘Chelsea sensation forces Enzo Maresca’s hand as manager left furious’
Enzo Maresca surely cannot fail to notice one Chelsea ace eligible for his big break after the manager was left furious in training.
It has turned into a challenging first season in the Stamford Bridge dugout, with the only the UEFA Conference League left to play for in terms of silverware.
Combined with some poor performances, that has already led to a number of Chelsea fans calling for Maresca to be sacked.
Now the task facing the Italian looks to have been enhanced even further, in the wake of reports emerging around training at the club during the international break.

Enzo Maresca fumes after training performance
According to a report from The Sun, Maresca cancelled a planned day off for the first-team on Thursday (27 March) in the wake of their performances the day before.
It is claimed that a team of senior Chelsea players who did not go away on international duty were beaten 3-0 by individuals from the club’s academy setup.
Maresca was apparently infuriated by the lack of effort and application from those first-teamers who were beaten in that training match.
As a result the day off was cancelled and the squad has now found itself with more work to do in the face of an unhappy manager.
Meanwhile, one young star who played a big part in that defeat has put further pressure on the Chelsea boss himself, after causing such frustration for him with his senior players by exposing their problems.

Donnell McNeilly to get his chance after shocking senior stars
It is stated that in that training match, two of the goals scored for the academy side came courtesy of Donnell McNeilly.
The young striker has been prolific at a variety of different age levels for the club, but is yet to make his senior debut, unlike many fellow Chelsea youngsters such as Shim Mheuka.
It has been claimed that Chelsea staff are baffled Maresca has not given McNeilly a chance with the first-team, especially given the opportunities afforded to other youngsters.
Indeed it was even suggested that may be one of the reasons why the striker is yet to sign a new contract despite being offered one by the club.
Chelsea last five games | Result |
Southampton (H) | Won 4-0 |
Copenhagen (A) | Won 2-1 |
Leicester (H) | Won 1-0 |
Copenhagen (H) | Won 1-0 |
Arsenal (A) | Lost 1-0 |
Now though, with McNeilly having seemingly emabarrassed a number of first-team players in this training game, it is becoming harder and harder for Maresca to ignore him.
The Chelsea boss ought to now know just how good the young attacker can be, and therefore how important it will be for his side to keep him.
Maresca may therefore now feel forced to give McNeilly the opportunity with the first-team since he has shown he is capable, given it may help the club to secure his future, and since some of his senior counterparts are apparently not up to the challenge right now.
If that does prove to be the case, then there will at least have been one positive to come out of this for Chelsea from a training match that clearly left their manager so unhappy.
