Chelsea sensation Marc Guiu bids farewell after confirmed exit news
Chelsea youngster Marc Guiu took to social media to make his feelings known regarding Renato Veiga’s move to Juventus after ‘liking’ a post.
The 21-year-old has joined the Italian giants on a six-month loan after failing to establish himself for Chelsea following his £12million move from Swiss side Basel in the summer of 2024.
It’s understood the Portugal international grew frustrated playing as an understudy for Marc Cucurella at left-back, preferring to be used at centre-back instead.
Chelsea believe the move to Italy will provide him with more playing time, aligning with the player’s ambition to remain part of Portugal’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Veiga was primarily used in Chelsea’s cup games by Enzo Maresca, starting just one Premier League games during his first six months, the 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
The defender started 12 of his 18 games across all competitions, scoring two goals, and providing one assist in his 1166 minutes of action.

Guiu, 19, has also struggled to establish himself under Maresca this season, starting just seven of his 12 games across all competitions, scoring six goals, and providing zero assists in his 540 minutes on the field.
The young striker took to Instagram to make his feelings known regarding his teammate’s move to the Serie A giants, liking Veiga’s announcement post.

Chelsea’s 3-1 Premier League defeat to Man City on Saturday (January 25) saw them fall out of the top four and into sixth after a torrid run of form over the festive period.
Maresca’s side will face Graham Potter’s West Ham on Monday (February 3) in the English manager’s first visit to his former club since returning to management.
