Chelsea set to miss out on £20m Jamal Musiala payout after source’s talks update
Chelsea are set to miss out on a Jamal Musiala windfall this summer with Bayern Munich set to fight to keep him at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
Clubs around Europe are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old’s situation with just two years left to run on his current contract.
But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Bayern Munich will accelerate talks with the midfield sensation this summer as they want a decision from the player on a new contract.
Nevertheless, Bayern won’t entertain losing the midfielder at present and have placed a £100million price tag on his head.
Musiala joined the German giants from Chelsea in 2019 and the Londoners are entitled to 20 per cent of any future sale – meaning they would be due £20million if that valuation is met.

That payout would be welcome for the Blues – who need to raise funds to avoid breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).
Football Insider revealed on Friday (15 March) that Musiala is attracting interest from Premier League duo Man City and Liverpool.
He has made 30 appearances across all competitions this term, notching 10 goals and six assists.

The 21-year-old has already won a Champions League trophy and four Bundesliga titles.
He signed his last extension at the Allianz Arena in 2021 and Bayern are desperate to keep him at the club long-term.
In other news, Tottenham could now hijack £60m Chelsea deal.
