Michael Ballack found Arsenal’s defeat against Manchester City highly amusing and he posted a message on Twitter to troll the London fans.

The former Chelsea star made a dig at Arsenal’s apparent collapse in the second-half as Manchester City scored two goals to produce a comeback and secure all three points.

Goals from Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling sealed victory for City and Ballack was quick to point out on his personal Twitter account that Arsenal had “fallen asleep” and allowed their rivals to get back into the game.

Theo Walcott had given Arsenal an early lead and the Gunners dominated the first half, though Manchester City did have a few chances to score.

Arsene Wenger’s side could have extended their lead but went into the half-time break with just a slim lead and it proved costly as they were hugely disappointing in the final 45 minutes.

The defeat meant Arsenal slipped back down into fourth place, just one point ahead of Tottenham and they now trail Chelsea by nine points at the top of the table.

Ballack joined the league leaders in 2006 and went on to make 168 appearances for the club in midfield. He is a German football legend and was considered one of the best players in the world during his time at Bayern Munich.
