Patrick Bamford has apologised to Chelsea supporters after appearing to celebrate Arsenal’s 3-0 win on Saturday evening.
Striker Bamford, who is on loan at Burnley, liked Instagram photos of Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin after his sides heavy defeat at the Emirates.
First half goals from Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott helped Arsene Wenger’s side to a convincing win over their London rivals.
The 23-year-old took to his personal Twitter account to apologies to Chelsea supporters, after they demanded reasoning behind his actions.
“With regards to the Instagram pictures I liked,” Bamford wrote on his personal Twitter account. “[I] was only liking my friend’s pictures, as I have done many a time. No shade or disrespect intended. Sorry.”
Here is Bamford appearing to celebrate Arsenal’s victory then issuing the apology on his personal Twitter account.

Bamford has made two appearances from the bench for Sean Dyche’s side in the league this term and is yet to make a single first team appearance for his parent club.
The England under-21 international was on loan at Crystal Palace and Norwich during the last campaign, but failed to score a single goal.
