‘Chelsea to pay major penalty to cancel Jadon Sancho deal with Man United’
Jadon Sancho is still facing uncertainty over his future at Chelsea, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
The winger moved to Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan back in the summer transfer window, with that deal including an obligation to buy in certain circumstances.
That came after Sancho had fallen out with the then Man United manager Erik ten Hag, and he has since had something of a mixed time of things in London.
But despite all that it appears there is still a possibility that the England international could be back at Old Trafford at the end of this season.

Chelsea could pull out of Man United transfer agreement
According to this latest update from the Daily Mail, Chelsea will be obliged to buy Sancho in the summer if they finish higher than 14th in the Premier League.
That will cost them between £22 and 25 million depending on their exact finishing position, which looks certain to be higher than 14th, with the Blues currently fourth in the standings.
Despite that there is still a chance they could pull out of that deal, although they will be forced to pay a “significant financial penalty” to Man United if that proves to be the case.

It is also stated that Sancho is yet to agree a permanent contract with Chelsea, which is said to be unusual in deals such as these.
As a result, if the Stamford Bridge club have not agreed a deal with the winger by the end of the season, they will face two choices.
Those will apparently consist of either buying Sancho and selling him immediately, or returning him to Old Trafford and paying that financial penalty.

Jadon Sancho will not want Old Trafford return
Football Insider Verdict
Ironically, the club currently 14th in the Premier League are Man United, which is a damning reflection on their struggles in recent times.
As a result that is not going to appeal to a player who has become accustomed to playing further up the division.
For Sancho it would be a particularly awkward return after his “freedom” message to Marcus Rashford after he left Man United to join Aston Villa on loan earlier this season.
That may therefore be a reunion he is keen to avoid, especially considering Sancho is seemingly enjoying life at Chelsea.
With that in mind, the winger will be desperate to produce some positive performances between now and the end of the season to convince the Blues to keep him at Stamford Bridge.
