Chelsea to sell four first-team stars for ‘bargain’ fees – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Chelsea will sell at least four first-team players in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the Blues could be forced to sanction “bargain” deals with purchasing clubs set to be “king” in negotiations.
Chelsea are widely expected to be open to offers for several of their first-teamers in a bid to avoid a breach of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
The Londoners finished sixth in the Premier League this season – a finish which was not enough for Mauricio Pochettino to keep his job at Stamford Bridge.
Thiago Silva has already confirmed he will leave the club in June at the end of his contract.
Chelsea could make four ‘bargain’ sales this summer, says Wyness
Wyness claimed clubs with spare cash can “get some real bargains” in the summer as top-flight outfits watch their PSR situation closely.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I’ve evaluated the Chelsea situation and I think there will be four exits from that first-team squad.
“It’s a fair amount given the stability they’ve tried to create.
“Who goes – that will depend on the market.
“A lot of clubs will be looking at their own PSR situations and whether they are close to a breach, and therefore the market will be very interesting.
“The buyer will be king, and anyone who has some spare cash will be able to get some real bargains and call the tunes.

“I don’t think there will be a lot of major inflation in this transfer window.
“I think four is the number for Chelsea.”
