‘Chelsea to sell Nicolas Jackson’ – fans react to journalist’s update

Chelsea supporters were in unison in their reaction to an update regarding Nicolas Jackson’s future at the club.

Jackson has endured a disappointing second half of the season following his return from injury, managing just one goal in his last eight Premier League appearances.

Despite his struggles in front of goal, he remained Enzo Maresca’s preferred option up top, with Christopher Nkunku keen to leave Chelsea after falling out of favour.

However, Jackson will now miss the remainder of the league campaign after being sent off for violent conduct against Newcastle, following a flailing elbow on Sven Botman.

Chelsea fans reacted with anger at Jackson, especially with the club’s hopes of securing Champions League football resting on the final two fixtures.

That frustration only intensified after a fresh update on Jackson’s long-term future at the club.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson attracting interest from multiple clubs

Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto of Relevo revealed on X that “multiple clubs have enquired” about Jackson ahead of the summer transfer window.

He added that the former Villarreal striker “could be sold” if a “satisfactory” offer is received.

The Senegalese international has been Chelsea’s main option up front this season, making 30 Premier League appearances and scoring 10 league goals.

However, his actions last weekend left many exasperated, including his own manager. Maresca was visibly furious following Jackson’s red card against Newcastle and was seen ignoring the striker as he made his way down the tunnel.

Chelsea fans call for Nicolas Jackson sale as striker search intensifies

It’s increasingly likely that Chelsea will prioritise signing a new striker this summer, with reports suggesting Chelsea are interested in a deal for Liam Delap, with his relegation clause of £30 million proving an attractive option.

The club were also heavily linked with Victor Osimhen last summer, and although Chelsea fans are keen on a deal for Osimhen, it remains to be seen whether the Nigerian forward will leave Galatasaray.

For Jackson, the arrival of a new striker would likely mean fewer minutes — particularly if the new arrival hits the ground running.

Following the recent update, fans appear more open to the idea of moving Jackson on. One supporter said: “He should be sold for free” while another added: “If we manage to secure a better striker, we might as well sell.”
