Chelsea to sell two more first-XI stars after Conor Gallagher – sources

Chelsea are planning to sell two more first-team academy graduates after Conor Gallagher’s move to Atletico Madrid, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League giants have told Trevor Chalobah and Armando Broja that they will listen to offers for them in this transfer window.

Both are expected to leave Stamford Bridge by the 31st August cut-off after being deemed surplus to requirements.

They will follow Gallagher out the door, as the central midfielder is set to move to Spain after agreeing terms with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

The England international will become the latest Chelsea academy product to depart this summer, as Omari Hutchinson, Lewis Hall, and Ian Maatsen have all left the club.

The moves will benefit Chelsea in terms of PSR, as the Blues have become notorious for offloading their academy stars in recent years.

The likes of Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Tammy Abraham are other academy stars who have been sold in recent years.

Chelsea will cash in on Chalobah and Broja before deadline day

Chalobah was surprisingly left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America, with the central defender being unwanted by new boss Enzo Maresca.

The Englishman had impressed toward the end of last season for the Blues but is now set to leave the club.

Football Insider revealed that Man United are in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

Broja struggled to make a mark in the Premier League last season, leading to Chelsea loaning him out to Fulham for the campaign’s second half.

The Albania international only managed to score once in 21 Premier League appearances, with the Blues now cutting their losses.
