Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo reacts to Nicolas Jackson amid Man United interest

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain with Premier League club’s monitoring the situation.

It was exclusively revealed by Football Insider that Manchester United could make a move for Jackson, but only if the price set by Chelsea does not price them out.

Aston Villa are another Premier League side interested in Jackson, with Morgan Rogers potentially heading in the opposite direction to Chelsea.

The Senegal international joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 on an eight-year contract, but Enzo Maresca has already signed two new strikers in this window.

Jackson preparing for Chelsea exit

Jackson was part of Chelsea’s Club World Cup winning squad, but the 24-year-old only started one game at the tournament.

Chelsea beat PSG 3-0 in the final to win the competition and earn themselves over £80million in prize money.

Taking to Instagram, Jackson shared that he is beginning preparations for next season not long after the Club World Cup finished.

The striker posted pictures of himself training abroad, which was liked by team mate Moises Caicedo, and he captioned the post with a green and white circle emoji.

Decisions to make for Jackson and Maresca

Football Insider Verdict

One of Man United manager Ruben Amorim’s top targets is a new striker this summer, and Jackson could prove to be their man after missing out on other targets.

Amorim missed out on a reunion with Viktor Gyokeres with the Swedish striker looking set to join rivals Arsenal.

Jackson may not be a clinical finisher, but he could prove to be a short-term solution to United’s goal scoring issues.

Nicolas Jackson’s record at Chelsea in all competitions.

The club only scored 44 goals in 38 Premier League games last season and Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund both failed to impress up-front.

At the right price, Maresca may be willing to sell Jackson having signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap alongside winger Jamie Gittens.

Pedro has already impressed in a Chelsea shirt with his performances at the Club World Cup a key factor in the club’s tournament victory, with the Brazilian netting three goals in three games.

Maresca will need to be ruthless with his squad if he wants Chelsea to become title challengers next season having not won the title since the 2016/17 campaign.
