‘Chelsea’s summer spree is nowhere near finished’ as three more deals agreed
Chelsea were very active in the pre-Club World Cup transfer window, already securing three new signings.
Enzo Maresca is looking to strengthen his squad this summer after securing Champions League football on the final day of the Premier League season.
Chelsea confirmed the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich last week (5 June) after they triggered the £30million release clause in his contract.
The Blues also brought in Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg and Dario Essugo from Sporting CP before the first part of the window slammed shut on Tuesday (10 June) evening.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – doesn’t believe Chelsea’s lavish spending is going to end anytime soon.

‘Chelsea will be very active’, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that he expects a flurry of further arrivals at Chelsea before the second window shuts later this year.
Despite their heavy spending in recent years, Chelsea are still expected to adhere to PSR regulations due to a number of budget-friendly but controversial transactions.
Finance expert Stefan Borson has told Football Insider the club are only able to record substantial losses because of their intra-group sales, as opposed to the business operating well.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Chelsea will be active, very active in this summer window.
“I do expect them to carry on spending and I think they’ll find ways to balance that book.
“We’ve got Delap already in there, but Chelsea have also managed to sell quite a bit as well. There’s been some outgoings, and they’ve got some assets still to sell.
“I do expect them to be able to be reasonably compliant, but, you know, they did have this the idea of buying all the young talent and sucking it all up, as they did with the academies.
“Their problem has been that they’ve sold some of the wrong players from the academy, as we’ve seen.

Palace confident of beating Chelsea to Diomande deal
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are confident they can beat the likes of Chelsea and Man United to the signing of Sporting CP star Ousmane Diomande.
Former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown claimed that Oliver Glasner wants to persuade the 21-year-old to join his project.
Football Insider revealed in April that Sporting will accept £50million offers for Diomande amid interest from elite Premier League clubs.
