Arsenal set for decision after £35m bid tabled for midfield ace - report

By Dominic Toner

Arsenal target N’Golo Kante is the subject of an impending £35million bid from a Chinese club, according to a report.

The Frenchman is currently away on international duty with the host nation at Euro 2016 and will be in contention for a starting place for the final against Portugal on Sunday.

The Daily Mirror claim that Sven Goran Eriksson’s club Shanghai SIPG are set to lodge a formal bid for the services of the Leicester midfielder.

It is said that Arsenal have already made an enquiry this window for the 25-year-old, as well as European giants Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris St-Germain.

Premier League winners Leicester captured Kante for £5.6million last summer and his impressive performances in the league have caught the eye of Europe’s biggest club.

He made 40 appearances in all competitions and grabbed one goal in a league match against Watford.

Manager Arsene Wenger has previously expressed his admiration of the Frenchman, so a move to Emirates Stadium this summer would be no surprise.

The French boss has added Swiss international Grant Xhaka to his team and the addition of Kante could see them kick on from their second-placed finish last season.

In the latest Arsenal transfer news, they have been given an emphatic answer to approaches for their Euro 2016 star.
