Celtic have signed many excellent players in the last 20 years; the likes of Chris Sutton, Neil Lennon and Scott Brown helped the Hoops reestablish themselves as the biggest team in Scotland.
Throw in a UEFA Cup Final run in 2003 and a team on the verge of a seventh league title in a row and the Hoops are in their most successful period in forty years.
But that doesn’t mean there haven’t been failures along the way – the John Barnes/Kenny Dalglish managerial ‘dream team’ to name but one, and the era of Ronny Deila, ended in humiliating fashion by a Rangers team in the Championship.
That was poor managers, dealing with poor players there are many to chose from, and the likes of Regi Blinker, Stephane Henchoz and yes, even the great Roy Keane miss out, but there are five stinkers which made the grade as truly awful signings made by the Hoops.
