Chris Sutton delivers two-word verdict on Tottenham display against Everton

By Amir Mir

Chris Sutton has stated that Tottenham were “very impressive” during their 3-2 win against Everton on Sunday afternoon.

In-form striker Harry Kane netted a brace during the game to help his side maintain a top four spot and pick up a valuable three points at White Hart Lane.

The England international opened the scoring for the home team after 20 minutes when his vicious shot from long range was too much to handle of the opposition keeper.

Kane then scored his second after the break, with Toffees striker Romelu Lukaku also getting on the scoresheet before stoppage time goals from Dele Alli and Enner Valencia saw a frantic end to the match.

After the encounter, former Premier League winner Sutton had this to say about Spurs as he hailed their attacking duo.

“Alli and Kane superb,” Sutton wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Spurs very impressive.”

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his team can continue their run and maintain a top four spot at the end of the season.

The battle for a Champions League place is set to go to the wire with only seven points separating Spurs in second and Manchester United in sixth who have a game in hand.

Three of the teams in the top six below Pochettino’s side have at least one game in hand with fourth-placed Manchester City set to play rock-bottom Sunderland later on in the afternoon.
