Chris Sutton delivered a typical response when asked whether Liverpool should sack Jurgen Klopp and replace him with Brendan Rodgers.

The former Premier League striker stated, “what a ridiculous question” to ask when the comment was put forward to him.

Current Reds manager Klopp replaced Northern Irishman Rodgers in the Anfield dugout in October 2015.

Since then, Rodgers went on to take up a new job at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic where he has guided the club to an unbeaten run on the domestic scene this season.

By contrast, Liverpool find themselves in familiar situations compared to recent campaigns, sitting outside of the top four with defensive problems once again a major problem.

This was former Bhoys striker Sutton’s response when asked whether Klopp should be sacked and replaced by Rodgers.

“No. What a ridiculous question,” Sutton told BT Sport.

Klopp’s side were outplayed on Monday night when Premier League champions Leicester City recorded a 3-0 win against the Champions League chasers.

This despite, the Merseyside club having a 16-day break, while the Midlands outfit suffered two defeats in the FA Cup and Champions League during that time.

Furthermore, they sacked title winning manager Claudio Ranieri which caused a big uproar from supporters and pundits alike.

By contrast, Rodgers has enjoyed great success since his move up north, winning the Scottish League Cup and on his way to winning the SPL title in record fashion.

Furthermore, he has helped his supporters win the bragging rights in Glasgow by beating their Old Firm rivals Rangers on three occasions this term.
