Chris Sutton responds to Ally McCoist comments about Celtic ace, states what is ridiculous

By Amir Mir

Chris Sutton believes Celtic will not let their striker Moussa Dembele leave the club for “anything less than £30million”.

BT Sports pundit Sutton made the comments in response to Rangers legend Ally McCoist who earlier claimed that the Bhoys ace is not worth that much money.

Furthermore, Sutton believes it will be “ridiculous” for the highly-rated 20-year-old to move to England where he will most likely sit on the bench.

Dembele joined the Scottish giants last summer when he moved to Parkhead from English Championship outfit Fulham after his contract at Craven Cottage expired.

He has since enjoyed a stellar debut season at the club where he is set to help them win the Scottish Premiership title in record fashion.

Former Premier League winner Sutton had this advice for Dembele on what he should do in the near future.

“What did Ally McCoist say ‘not worth £30million’, I think Celtic wouldn’t let him go for anything less than £30m,” Sutton told BT Sport.

“He [Dembele] has got to stay for his development. What is the point of him going down to England like Michy Batshuayi at Chelsea and sitting on the bench? That would be ridiculous, stay at Celtic, develop Celtic and then move on time as a player.”

France under-21 international Dembele has arguably been the standout performer in Scotland this season.

He has played 44 games in all competitions where he has found the back of the net on an impressive 32 occasions.

In the SPL, Dembele has scored on 17 occasions, including scoring three during the group stages of the Champions League earlier on in the campaign.

As a result, he has helped his team win the Scottish League Cup and remain unbeaten in the SPL with his side set to take on Old Firm rivals Rangers on Sunday.

In other Celtic news, Stan Collymore has stated his prediction for the Old Firm clash on Sunday.
