Chris Sutton makes Rangers admission about Wilfried Nancy after what he saw in Celtic loss vs Motherwell
Wilfried Nancy is on thin ice at Celtic after he oversaw yet another defeat, this time to Motherwell in a 2-0 loss.
The Hoops could not get near the hosts on Tuesday and Celtic deservedly came away with nothing at Fir Park.
Nancy is now under serious pressure at Celtic with their Scottish Premiership title ambitions taking yet another hit.
With Rangers up next on Saturday, Chris Sutton believes the game could be a massive one for the Frenchman.
Chris Sutton: Old Firm derby is vital for Wilfried Nancy
The second Old Firm derby of the Scottish Premiership season is set to take place at Celtic Park on the weekend, in what could be a do-or-die game for Nancy.
With Hearts likely to beat bottom-placed Livingston on Saturday, a defeat could see the Hoops trail the Jam Tarts by six points on the weekend.
On top of this, Celtic’s Champions League hopes could be in serious threat if Rangers were to take three points, with the Gers having the potential to leapfrog the Hoops on Saturday.
Commenting on X on 30 December, Sutton now believes that the game is vital for Nancy after their embarrassment against Motherwell.
After being outplayed by Motherwell tonight Saturday’s game against Rangers feels quite big now for Wilfried Nancy…

Who could replace Nancy at Celtic?
If Celtic were to give Nancy the boot, the favourite to take over will no doubt be Martin O’Neill.
The former interim manager oversaw a highly successful spell before the Frenchman’s appointment, winning seven of his eight games in charge, including a win over Rangers.
With the manager clearly able to get the best out of the current crop of players, there is no reason why he can’t repeat this success a month later.
While it is unknown if Celtic even have targets if they were forced to pull the trigger on Nancy, O’Neill simply has to be near the top of the list.
Hopefully, if he is brought back, O’Neill will be able to reproduce the magic that made his interim spell at Celtic Park so special earlier this season.
