Chris Sutton: This is how many Rangers players would get into Aberdeen side
By Will Butcher
Chris Sutton believes only two and a half Rangers players would get into Aberdeen’s starting lineup following the Gers huge 5-1 Old Firm derby loss to Celtic.
Pedro Caixinha watched in horror from the dugout as Brendan Rodgers’ side ran riot in the sixth Old Firm showdown of the season, despite being away from home at Ibrox.
Former Celtic striker Sutton claimed that no Rangers players would get into Celtic’s side, and believes only Kenny Miller and Clint Hill would definitely improve Derek McInnes’ Aberdeen.
The Dons currently sit in second above Rangers, and claimed that he would be “50-50” over choosing between Shay Logan and James Tavernier at right-back.
“I got slaughtered last year for saying not one Rangers player would get into the Celtic team yet now people are asking how many of them would get into the Aberdeen team. I’d suggest two and a half,” Sutton told the Daily Record.

“Would I have Wes Foderingham for Joe Lewis? Nope. Myles Beerman for Andrew Considine? Nope.
“Danny Wilson for Mark Reynolds? Nope. Josh Windass, Jason Holt and Andy Halliday for Ryan Jack, Graeme Shinnie and Kenny McLean? Nope. Martyn Waghorn for Jonny Hayes? Nope.
“I’d have Clint Hill at the back, I’d be 50-50 over Shay Logan and James Tavernier at right-back and I’d have Kenny Miller up front alongside Adam Rooney.”
Rangers suffered their fifth defeat in six against Celtic this season, with goals coming from Scott Sinclair, Leigh Griffiths, Callum McGregor, Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig at Ibrox.
It leaves the Gers nine points adrift of the Dons in third place, with St. Johnstone only six points behind in fourth with four games still to play in Scotland’s top flight.
Caixinha’s side are next in action on Sunday lunchtime as they travel to Partick in search of their 17th Scottish Premiership win of the season.
