Chris Sutton: It’s a massive week for this Rangers senior man
By Harvey Byrne
Outspoken pundit and former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has claimed it’s a “massive week” for Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha with clashes against Partick Thistle and the Hoops coming up.
The March appointment has came in for some criticism since taking the reigns at Ibrox with the Gers suffering a third placed finish in the last campaign, while they were dumped out of the Europa League at the first hurdle in a humiliating 2-1 aggregate defeat against Progres Niederkorn.
The Glasgow giants were also held to a 2-2 draw in their most recent league match against Partick Thistle on Friday evening, leaving them five points off top of the league Celtic and in third place after just six games.
Now, with the pressure seemingly mounting on Caixinha, Sutton has added his own comment by stating via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that it could play a huge part in his future.
A semi-final place will be waiting for Rangers if they manage a victory over Partick Thistle on Tuesday evening, while the Gers will also be looking for their first victory over fierce rivals Celtic since their Scottish Cup penalty win in 2016.
It is certainly going to be a busy week for the Glasgow giants and both fans and Caixinha will be hoping it’s a successful one.
In other Rangers news, this Gers midfielder has admitted to the team being dealt a blow ahead of Celtic clash.
