Chris Sutton predicts Tottenham v Stoke

By Harvey Byrne

Chris Sutton has predicted a victory for Tottenham in their Sunday afternoon clash against Stoke.

The north London club are currently preparing for an encounter at White Hart Lane which will see them take on the Midlands outfit.

Spurs will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing Europa League exit on Thursday evening, while Stoke will be looking to push on from an impressive 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in their last outing.

Tottenham are going into the weekend fixture as favourites and outspoken pundit Sutton has seemingly agreed, predicting a 2-1 victory for the home side.

“It’s an interesting one after Tottenham’s performance at Wembley,” told Sutton to the Daily Mail.

“They need to bounce back and I think that they will with a narrow victory. 2-1 to Tottenham.”

Despite their Europa League elimination and league loss to Liverpool, Tottenham have had some success from their Premier League fixtures recently.

The north London club were unbeaten in nine league matches before the Anfield defeat and they will now be eager to recapture that form before Chelsea move further away at the top.

Additionally, they will be looking to secure a spot in this season’s top four and with Liverpool and Manchester United sat one and two points behind in fifth and sixth they will know they need a victory.

Their last two outings against Stoke have brought great success with a couple of 4-0 victories and they will be keen to see the same outcome on Sunday.
